Subscription & Billing
Manage billing and payments
Your card, receipts and renewal date sit in the store you installed the app from, not inside Optiway — subscriptions are sold and charged inside the app stores:
- iPhone / iPad — iOS Settings → your name → Payment & Shipping for the card, Media & Purchases → Purchase History for receipts
- Android — Google Play → your profile → Payments & subscriptions
Whichever store sold you the subscription is the one that charges it, so that is where the payment method and the invoices live.
Start a free trial or paid subscription
- Open the menu (☰) and tap Subscription
- Review the plans, then tap Subscribe — or Try Free and Subscribe if a trial is offered
- Pick your plan and confirm
The purchase completes through your store account — the App Store on iPhone, Google Play on Android. When a trial applies you will see "First X days free, cancel anytime" before you confirm.
Cancel a subscription or request a refund
Cancelling happens in the store you bought the subscription from, not inside Optiway:
- iPhone / iPad — iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Optiway → Cancel
- Android — Google Play → your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Optiway → Cancel
Deleting the app does not cancel anything — the subscription keeps renewing until you cancel it in the store. Access stays live until the end of the period you already paid for.
Refunds are the store's to issue for the same reason: Apple for App Store purchases, Google Play for Android ones.
Change your subscription plan
- Menu (☰) → Subscription
- Tap Manage Subscription — your current plan sits at the top, the alternatives below it
- Tap the plan you want and confirm
The change is completed through the store that bills you, and the new rate applies from your next renewal.
Using the app
Add stops and create a route
- Menu (☰) → Create route
- Tap Add start address, or use your current location
- Tap Add stop and search each address — up to 200 per route
- Optionally set an end address; leave it empty for a round trip back to the start
- Tap Optimize route
A name, date and time for the route are optional.
Update a live route
- On the route screen, tap the three dots (⋮) in the top right
- Tap Edit to change stops, or Add stop to append one
- Make your changes
- Tap Optimize route, or Skip optimization to keep the current order
Create a route without optimization
- Menu (☰) → Create route
- Add your start address and stops as usual
- Tap Skip optimization at the bottom instead of Optimize
The route is built with the stops in exactly the order you entered them.
Import stops from a .txt or .xlsx spreadsheet
- Menu (☰) → Import route
- Tap Download sample template if you want the expected layout first
- Tap Select file to upload and choose your .txt, .xlsx or .xls file
Optiway extracts the addresses and warns you about any it could not find, listing their positions in the file. You land on the Create route screen with the rest already added.
Reorder stops while on the go
- On the route screen, tap the three dots (⋮) → Edit
- Tap Reorder stops
- Drag stops up or down, then tap Done
- Tap Optimize route, or Skip optimization to keep the order you just set
Set priority for a stop
- Tap the stop card on the route screen
- Tap the gear icon in its top right corner
- Turn on High priority under STOP SETTINGS
- Go back, then tap the three dots (⋮) → Optimize
The re-optimize is what actually applies the priority — without it the order stays as it was.
Change time windows for a stop
- On the route screen, tap the three dots (⋮) → Edit
- Tap the stop you want to change
- Under TIME SETTINGS set Earliest time and Latest time
- Tap Optimize route to rebuild around the window
The latest time has to be at least 5 minutes after the earliest one.
Account
Log in to your account
Open the app and pick one of three options on the login screen:
- Continue with Email — email and password
- Continue with Google
- Continue with Apple
Finish the authentication for whichever you chose and you land on the main screen.
Reset your password
- On the login screen, tap Continue with Email
- Tap Forgot Password?
- Enter your email address and tap Continue
- Open the reset link from your inbox and set a new password
This only applies if you signed up with an email address — Google and Apple sign-ins have no Optiway password to reset.
Manage profile settings
Menu (☰) → Settings. From there you can change:
- Distance unit — kilometres or miles
- Vehicle type — car, small truck, big truck, scooter or bike
- Navigation map — your preferred navigation app
- Time at stop — the default stop duration
- Theme — system, light or dark
Changes save automatically when you leave the screen.
Delete your account
- Menu (☰) → Settings
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account
- Pick a reason if you want to, then tap Submit
- Confirm with Yes, I want to delete my account
This is permanent — routes and data go with it. Cancel the subscription separately in your store, deleting the account does not stop the billing.

Getting started
What's the difference between the Route Planner app and Optiway Dispatch?
The Route Planner app is for a single driver planning their own day on a phone — add stops, optimize, and navigate. Optiway Dispatch is the web platform for teams: you plan every route in one place, assign them to drivers, watch the day unfold on a live map, and get reports afterwards. Drivers on a dispatched team still use the same mobile app to drive their routes.
How do I get started with the web platform?
Open dispatch.optiway.io and create your workspace. Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial and no credit card is needed to begin. We email you a reminder before the trial ends — cancel without being billed, or let it roll into a monthly subscription.
How do I sign in to Dispatch?
Two ways to sign in at dispatch.optiway.io:
- Continue with Google — use your Gmail or Google Workspace account, with no separate password to remember
- Continue with email — sign in with your work email address and a password
Both lead to the same workspace, so everyone on your team can pick whichever they prefer.
Where does Optiway Dispatch work?
Anywhere with map coverage — across North America, Europe and most of the world — so you can dispatch wherever your drivers deliver.
Routes & dispatch
How do I get my stops into Dispatch?
Two ways, whichever fits your workflow:
- Upload a spreadsheet — .csv, .xls or .xlsx, up to 10 MB
- Add stops manually, one by one
Every address lands in the same organized list, so there's no re-typing between sources.
How does route optimization work on the platform?
Optiway sequences all of your stops into the fastest realistic order and balances the load across your drivers, while respecting time windows and live traffic. Add a stop or drop a driver mid-day and it re-optimizes instantly — you don't rebuild the plan by hand.
How do I assign a route to a driver?
- Add the stops for the day — upload a spreadsheet or add them manually
- Select the drivers the work should be split between
- Hit Optimize — Optiway sequences the stops and balances them across the drivers you picked
- Press Share to drivers
The routes then appear on your drivers' devices in the Optiway app automatically, with the stop order, addresses and time windows already in place — there's nothing for them to re-enter.
How many stops and routes can I plan?
Routes are unlimited on every plan, and every plan includes multi-stop route optimization. What the plan sets is stops: how many one route can hold, and how many you can plan across the month. Go past the monthly allowance and the extra stops are billed per stop rather than blocking your day. Driver limits differ between Solo, Team and Fleet too — current numbers are on the plan screen in your workspace, prices on the pricing page.
Drivers & tracking
How do I add a driver to my team?
- In the side menu, open the Drivers tab
- Click Add driver
- Fill in their name, email and vehicle type
- Press Add
Optiway emails the driver automatically, with a link to download the app. They sign in with the address you entered and the invitation is waiting inside the app — as soon as they accept it, they start receiving routes from the dispatcher in real time. If it does not arrive, check the spam folder, then the address for a typo.
How do drivers receive and run their routes?
Assigned routes appear in the Optiway driver app. From there a driver opens turn-by-turn navigation, marks each stop complete as they go, and captures proof of delivery — all in real time, so the dispatch board stays current without anyone phoning in.
Can I track my drivers and see stop statuses?
Yes. The live map shows each driver's current location and the progress of their route in real time, updating as they go.
Every stop carries its own status — completed, still ahead, or running late — together with the current ETA for the ones left. So you can answer a "where's my order?" call straight from the board, without radioing the driver.
How does proof of delivery work?
At each stop the driver can capture a photo, a signature, or a written note. It's attached to that stop, so when a customer disputes a delivery you have the record instead of a recollection.
Subscription & Billing
Do I need a card for the trial, and how are payments taken?
No card is needed to start — the 7-day free trial opens without one.
Payments run through Stripe. To carry on after the trial you add a card to your workspace, and from then on Stripe charges it automatically according to the plan you're on.
While the trial is still running we email you a reminder that it's about to end, so nothing is charged as a surprise — cancel before it expires and you won't be billed.
How does billing work, and can I change plan?
Plans are billed monthly and the price depends on the plan you pick. You can move between Solo, Team and Fleet as your fleet changes, and cancel at any time. Current plans and prices are on the pricing page.
Do my drivers have to pay for their own accounts?
Your drivers pay nothing — the driver app is free for everyone on your team and no driver is asked for card details. What they cost you depends on the plan: Solo covers one driver for a flat monthly price, while Team and Fleet are priced per driver, so each person you add to the team is added to the bill.
