Optiway Dispatch vs the Route Planner app
What each one is for
The Route Planner app is for one driver planning their own day on a phone: add stops, optimize the order, and navigate. Everything happens on the device.
Optiway Dispatch is the web platform for a team. A dispatcher plans every route in one place, assigns them to drivers, follows the day on a live map and reviews what happened afterwards.
They are not alternatives. On a dispatched team the drivers still use the same mobile app — the difference is that their route arrives from the dispatcher instead of being typed in by hand.
Which one do you need?
Stay with the mobile app if you drive your own route and nobody else needs to see it.
Move to Dispatch when any of these start to hurt:
- You are planning routes for other people and sending them by message or screenshot
- You cannot answer "where is my order?" without phoning the driver
- Stops arrive as spreadsheets and get retyped
- You need a record of what was delivered, and when
